We are delighted that our 2024 summer holidays were so successful for our customers, and as a result are offering them again for 2025!

 

The English south coast offers stunning sailing. At just £1045 and all inclusive, and with only 20 places in total over the 5 weeks, this is a very limited availability bespoke holiday opportunity that's perfect for beginners or those wanting to push their skippering skills. A deposit secures a place.

As part of these holidays, you sail yacht Dream Odyssey under the expert guidance of one of our award-winning instructors. The first and last legs have been reserved for those wanting to become RYA Coastal Skippers or those with some experience and wanting to push their learning. And legs 2 to 4 are perfect for those either already qualified or those new to sailing as you don't need any prior experience to enjoy these holidays.

The holidays are a great fun way to build miles, experience and confidence for those wanting to progress towards Day Skipper or other higher qualifications since you can get fully involved in planning the passage for each day, in navigating it, and commanding the wheel.

 

New crew join the boat at 6pm on Sunday evening (4pm for the RYA Coastal Skipper legs), and disembark the following Saturday at 10am having arrived at the week's final destintion port on a Friday afternoon. All expected start and finish locations are shown below and have great train links so are easy to get to (see note at end regarding start and finsh locations).

 

Included in the price are all breakfasts, lunches, snacks, tea and coffee, as well as four evening meals (Sunday plus three other evenings), with the crew eating ashore together on the other two evenings (meals eaten ashore at crew's own expense). With so many fantastic overnight locations the crew choose where and when they want to dine out.

What's Included?

  • Your MCA / DOT Commercially Endorsed Skipper / RYA Instructor & hire of the yacht

  • All marina and mooring fees, boat fuel and gas

  • RYA Coastal Skipper course on legs 1 and 5 for those already at Day Skipper level and who are ready with theory and experience to take it on.

There are no hidden extra costs.  To book you pay a £150 deposit once we contact you for your deposit. A further payment of £150 is made by 1st December 2024, and the balance is due 8 weeks before the departure date.

Leg 1 - Burnham-on-Crouch to Lymington - including RYA Coastal Skipper Course

Sunday 8th (4pm) to Saturday 14th June 2025 (FULL)

White Cliffs of Dover

This leg is reserved for those taking on the RYA Coastal Skipper course or sailors with some experience who want to push their learning. It starts in the beautiful traditional and small east coast sailing town of Burnham-on-Crouch and takes in some great scenery and iconic destinations as you sail to the Solent. Experience the challenge of navigating the outer reaches of the River Thames before sighting North Foreland, with an overnight stop at either Ramsgate or Dover.  Take in the breathtaking white cliffs of Dover and Beachy Head as we progress onto Eastbourne for a stop. Then onwards to the Solent, passing Brighton and Newhaven.

The Solent offers an amazing playground with the incredible backdrop of the Isle of Wight, where we will stay in the world famous seaside town of Cowes. The final destination of this leg is Berthon Marina at Lymington in Hampshire.

Transport: The start location of Burnham Yacht Harbour is a few minutes from the local railway station. Similarly, the end destination of Berthon Marina is also just as close to its railway station.

The Isle of Wight Needles in the Solent

Leg 2 - Lymington to Dartmouth

Sunday 15th (6pm) to Saturday 21st June 2025 (2 spaces remaining)

Studland Bay, Dorset

This leg starts in Lymington in the Solent. The Solent enjoys a special place in the yachting scene. This leg works its way west through Dorset's jurassic coastline, and includes Lulworth Cove with opportunity to go ashore in RHIB for an ice-cream and pint. Then the quaint and historic Dorset harbour town of Weymouth with superb pubs and fish & chips.  Then heading west across Lyme Bay passing Torquay and Brixham with the final destination being Dartmouth in Devon.

Fingers crossed for Dolphins joining us. Great fish and chips and some very nice pubs to be enjoyed.

Transport: The start location of Berthon Marina at Lymington is just a few minutes by walk from the local train station. The end destination of Dartmough in an easy direct bus ride (number 92) to Totnes Railway Station for your journey home.

Leg 3 - Dartmouth to Penzance

Sunday 22nd (6pm) to Saturday 28th June 2025 (3 spaces remaining)

This leg starts in the beautiful Devon town of Dartmouth and works its way towards the worl famous Cornish seaside town of Penzance - watch out for pirates! Expected stops include some incredibly stunning and iconic locations, which typically include Salcombe, the Yealm, Fowey, Falmouth, before arriving in Penzance.

Transport: The start location of Dartmouth is an easy bus rider (number 92) from Totnes Railway Station. The end destination of Penzance also has its rail staton a few minutes walk away

Leg 4 - Dartmouth to The Hamble (Solent)

Sunday 27th July (6pm) to 2nd August 2025 (FULL)

This leg starts in Dartmouth, Devon and works its way back towards the Solent. With many stops along the way as featured in leg 2. Taking in the Devon, Dorset, and Hampshire coastline on this leg this really is an amazing opporrtunity to appreciate England's South Coast.

Transport: The start location of Dartmouth is an easy bus rider (number 92) from Totnes Railway Station. The end destination of Port Hamble Marina is a 4 minute taxi ride to Hamble Railway Station.

Leg 5 - Hamble to Burnham-on-Crouch - including RYA Coastal Skipper Course

Sunday 3rd (4pm) to 9th August 2025 (1 space remaining)

This final leg is also reserved for those taking on the RYA Coastal Skipper course or again for those with some experience and just wanting to take on more challenging sailing. This leg has some great passage-making and covers over 170NM.

 

You join Dream Odyssey at The Hamble in the Solent on the Sunday  where you will plan your passage and enjoy an evening meal ahead of setting sail on the Monday morning.

Likely overnight stops could include Brighton, Eastbourne (taking in Beachy Head), Dover (taking in the white famous white cliffs of Dover and the Seven Sisters!), then Ramsgate, before navigating the challenging route through the shallow sands of the outer Thames Estuary to reach Burnham-on-Crouch on the following Saturday (6th July) where you disembark and can head home via easy and excellent rail links.

Transport: The start location of Port Hamble Marina is just 5 minutes by taxi from the local railway station. The end destination of Burnham Yacht Harbour is less the 5 minutes away from Burnham-on-Crouch Railway Station by taxi. Both stations have excellent route links back to London and other routes from there.

Start & Finish Locations

We fully hope and expect to get to the start and finish locations described above. We made all of them in 2024. However, should the weather mean we need to slightly vary these at the time, then our skipper will make a decision at the time. This is all part of sailing. Everywhere we stop will have good transport links to get you back home. We just ask our customers not to book train tickets until the time and we 100% confirm locations.
